DTC Troubleshooting: P24BA (3.0L Engine): Inspection

EVAP Leak Check Module Pressure Sensor Inspection 

Test Procedure (Step 1) 

• Preparation
• • EVAP leak check module 8P connector: disconnected-

• Procedure
• • Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
  • Confirm the HDS [Absolute Pressure of ELCM Pressure Sensor].

• Normal Conditions
• • HDS [Absolute Pressure of ELCM Pressure Sensor] value is more than 852.804 mmHg. 

Test Procedure (Step 2) 

• Preparation
• • EVAP leak check module 8P connector: disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected)EVAP leak check module 8P connectorfemale terminals

	Unit output voltage inspection	ON		About 5.0 V

Results 

• If it is normal, there is a problem with the EVAP leak check module.
• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.

VCC6, PTANK, SG6 Circuit Inspection 

NOTICE: 

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • EVAP leak check module 8P connector: disconnected
  • PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected)EVAP leak check module 8P connectorfemale terminals	(Disconnected) PCM connector B (72P) - Refer to: PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs (3.0L Engine) or PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2.0L Engine) female terminals

	VCC6 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	VCC6, SG6 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MOhm
	PTANK, SG6 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MOhm
	Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	PTANK shorted to ground inspection	OFF			Not shorted

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

VCC6 Shorted Wire Inspection 

NOTICE: 

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • EVAP leak check module 8P connector: disconnected
  • PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
  • MAF sensor/IAT sensor 1 4P connector: disconnected
  • /C pressure sensor 3P connector: disconnected

    A

  • Turbocharger boost sensor 3P connector: disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

    Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item (s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
