DTC Troubleshooting: P154B(3.0L Engine): Inspection

12 Volt Battery Sensor Inspection (Temperature Check) 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
• • Open the hood, and measure the temperature around the 12 volt battery sensor with a thermometer.
  • Start the engine, and let it idle for 1 minute.
  • Confirm the HDS [Estimated Battery Temperature].

• Normal Conditions
• • The difference between the value of HDS [Estimated Battery Temperature] and the value of thermometer is less than 41 deg.F (23 deg.C)  .

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the 12 volt battery sensor.

12 Volt Battery Sensor Inspection (Signal Check) 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
• • Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
  • Confirm the HDS [Battery Current (Battery Sensor)].

• Normal Conditions
• • HDS [Battery Current (Battery Sensor)] value is less than 0 A  .

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the 12 volt battery sensor.
