DTC Troubleshooting: P0864(3.0L Engine): Inspection

A/T System Communication Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
• • Check for communication to the AT system with the HDS.

• Normal Conditions
• • The HDS communicates with the AT system.
    NOTE: It is shown by the AT System Mode Menu appearance on the HDS.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the power circuit and the ground circuit of the TCM.

PF-CAN C_H, PF-CAN C_L Open Wire Inspection 

NOTICE: 

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • TCM connector A (23P): disconnected
  • PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected)TCM connector A (23P) female terminals	(Disconnected) PCM connector B (72P) - Refer to: PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs(3.0L Engine) or PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs(2.0L Engine) female terminals

	PF-CAN C_H open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	PF-CAN C_L open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
