Brake Pedal Position Switch Installation Inspection
NOTE:
Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.
Test Procedure
Brake pedal position switch functional inspection
- Preparation
-
- Brake pedal position switch: removed with its connector connected
- Procedure
-
- Check the brake lights when the brake pedal position switch rod is pressed.
- Normal Conditions
-
- The brake lights go off.
Results
- If it is normal, there is a problem in the brake pedal position switch installation.
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.
+B_STOP Circuit Inspection
Test Procedure
- Preparation
-
- Brake pedal position switch 4P connector: disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Perform the inspection according to the following table.

Normal Conditions | ||
| +B_STOP circuit inspection | OFF | 12 V battery voltage [circuit type 1] | ||
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.
STOP_SW Circuit Inspection
NOTICE:
Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
Test Procedure
- Preparation

- Brake pedal position switch 4P connector: disconnected
- PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
- Brake light relay: disconnected
- Body control module connector C (28P): disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Perform the inspection according to the following table.

Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
PCM Inspection
Test Procedure
- If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.
Results
- There is a problem with the PCM.
