CMP Sensor A Circuit Connectors Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure

    Check the connectors for a secure connection or for loose terminals at the following components:

    CMP sensor A

    PCM

• Normal Conditions
• • -

    Conditions at the connections and terminals are OK.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the connections or terminals.

CMP Sensor A Circuit Terminals Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
• • -

    Check the connectors for a secure connection or for loose terminals at the following components:

    Engine ground

    Body ground

• Normal Conditions
• • -

    Conditions at the connections and terminals are OK.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the connections or terminals.

CMP Pulse Plate A Visual Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • -

    Cylinder head cover: removed

• Procedure
• • -

    Visually inspect CMP pulse plate A for looseness or damages.

• Normal Conditions
• • -

    There is no looseness or damages.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with CMP pulse plate A.

CMP Sensor A Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining CMP Sensor A is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with CMP Sensor A.
