Cam Chain Inspection (2.0L Engine): Inspection

1. Cam Chain - Inspect

   Preconditions 

   • Chain Case Cover Removed

   Procedure/Specifications 

   • Measure the length of the cam chain auto-tensioner rod.

   Specifications 

   Service Limit
   a	26.3 mm (1.035 in)

   Result 

   • If the measurement is not within specifications, replace the cam chain . When replacing, check the teeth on the cam chain drive sprocket, VTC actuator A, and VTC actuator B for wear and damage. If any of them are worn or damaged, replace them if necessary.
2. Cam Chain Auto-Tensioner - Inspect

   Preconditions 

   • Cam Chain Auto-Tensioner Removed

   Procedure/Specifications 

   • Check the oil passage on the cam chain auto-tensioner for clogs.

   Specifications 

   Specification
   Cam chain auto-tensioner is not clogged

   Result 

   • If it is abnormal, replace the cam chain auto-tensioner.
