Block and Piston Inspection (3.0L Engine): Inspection
- Engine Block Warpage - Inspect
Preconditions
- Engine Block Removed - Refer to: Engine Block/Crankshaft Area(3.0L Engine) or Engine Block/Crankshaft Area(2.0L Engine)
Procedure/Specifications
- Check the top of the block for warpage. Measure along the edges and across the center as shown.

Name c Micrometer Result
- If the measurement is not within specifications, replace the piston.
- Piston-to-Cylinder Bore Clearance - Inspect
Preconditions
- Piston Removed - Refer to: Engine Block/Crankshaft Area(3.0L Engine) or Engine Block/Crankshaft Area(2.0L Engine)
Procedure/Specifications
- Calculate the difference between the cylinder bore diameter and the piston diameter.
