Engine Oil Pressure Test (3.0L Engine): Test

How to use this manual .

  1. Engine Oil Pressure -Test

    Preconditions 

     

    Procedure/Specifications 

    1. Install the oil pressure hose, the pressure gauge adapter, the A/T pressure adapter, the A/T pressure test hose, and the A/T low pressure gauge w/panel as shown, then install the engine oil pressure sensor to the pressure gauge adapter.

    2. Start the engine. Shut it off immediately if the gauge registers no oil pressure. Repair the problem before continuing.

    3. Allow the engine to reach operating temperature (cooling fan comes on at least twice).

    Specifications 

    Condition Standard Value
    Engine oil temperature at 176 deg.F (80 deg.C) At Idle 100 kPa (1.02 kgf/cm 2, 14.5 psi) min.
    At 4, 000 rpm 450 kPa (4.59 kgf/cm 2, 65.3 psi) min.

    4. Remove the oil pressure hose, the pressure gauge adapter, the A/T pressure adapter, the A/T pressure test hose, and the A/T low pressure gauge w/panel.
