Preconditions
- Radiator Cap Removed - Refer to: Radiator Area(2.0L Engine)
or Radiator Area(3.0L Engine)
NOTICE:
Wait until the engine is cool, then carefully remove the cap.
Procedure/Specifications
1. Refer to the figure.
Tool Details
Name a Pressure Tester (Commercially Available) NOTICE:
Wet the cap seal with engine coolant, then install the radiator cap (b) on a commercially available pressure tester.
2. Check for a drop in pressure.
Specifications
Object Condition Specification Radiator Cap Apply a pressure of 93-123 kPa (0.95-1.25 kgf/cm 2, 13.5-17.8 psi). Pressure does not drop Result
- If it is abnormal, replace the cap.
- Radiator Cap Removed - Refer to: Radiator Area(2.0L Engine)
