Mic Level
This diagnosis allows you to independently test the HFL-navigation microphone and the HFL-navigation voice control switch (TALK and BACK buttons). The TALK button is used to activate the voice control system. The microphone is located near the map light in the roof console. The microphones can now isolate the driver's voice even when there is noise or other conversations in the vehicle. To properly check the microphones, make sure you are sitting in the driver's seat.
- Press the TALK button and the BACK button. The TALK icon (A) and the BACK icon (B) should momentarily turn green. If the TALK icon and/or the BACK icon does not turn green, check for HFL DTCs. If no DTC is indicated, do the HFL switch test.
- Press the TALK button on the steering wheel, wait until Now Recording! is indicated, and in a normal voice say "testing". The Mic Level indicator (C) on the screen should momentarily turn green. If there is no Mic Level movement when you speak, the microphone circuit must be faulty, check for hard error codes .
NOTE:
The mic level should reach the 6th bar.
