Cruise Control Combination Switch Removal, Installation, and Test: Test

  1. Cruise Control Combination Switch - Test

    1. Measure the resistance between right cruise switch 16P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 11 according to the table. If there is no resistance in one or more positions, replace the steering commander switch assembly (with built-in cruise control combination switch).
    Position Resistance
    OFF About 2.2 kΩ
    CRUISE (PRESSED) About 60 Ω
    CANCEL (PRESSED) About 190 Ω
    SET/- (PRESSED) About 450 Ω
    RES/+ (PRESSED) About 900 Ω

    2. Check for continuity between right cruise switch 16P connector terminals No. 4 and No. 5 according to the table.
    NOTE: There is continuity in one direction only because the switch has a diode that allows electricity to flow in one direction (forward), but not in other (reverse). If there is no continuity, replace the steering commander switch assembly (with built-in cruise control combination switch).
