DTC P2721
DTC P2721 : A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve D High Input
- Before you troubleshoot, review the General Troubleshooting Information .
- This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.
| DTC Description | Confirmed DTC | Pending DTC | Freeze Frame |
|---|---|---|---|
| P2721 A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve D High Input |
DTC (A/T)
- Problem verification (on-board snapshot check)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
-2. Check for the Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed in the on-board snapshot when the DTC is stored with the shift position in D position/mode.
Is the recorded value of the vehicle speed more than 25 mph (40 km/h)?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Replace the transmission .
NO
Go to step 2.
- Problem verification (with test-driving)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Start the engine, and wait for at least 1 second.
-4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P2721 A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve D High Input Is DTC P2721 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections and loose terminals between clutch pressure control solenoid valve D and the PCM. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Clutch pressure control solenoid valve D check
-1. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.
Signal Threshold Current conditions Values Unit Values Unit A/T C.P.C. Sol VLV. D Actual More than 0.035 A Do the current condition(s) match the threshold?
YES
Clutch pressure control solenoid valve D is OK. Go to step 4.
NO
Faulty clutch pressure control solenoid valve D. Replace the valve body assembly .
- Open wire check (GND lines)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
-3. Disconnect the following connectors.
PCM connector B (51P) PCM connector C (51P) -4. Check for continuity between the following test points and body ground individually.
Test condition OFF mode PCM connector B (51P): disconnected PCM connector C (51P): disconnected Connector Terminal PCM connector B (51P) No. 20 PCM connector C (51P) No. 17 Is there continuity?
YES
The GND1 and GND2 wires are OK. Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software , or substitute a known-good PCM , then recheck. If this DTC goes away and the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If this DTC goes away and the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM .
NO
Repair an open in the GND1 and/or GND2 wire between the PCM and ground (G101) or repair poor ground (G101).
