DTC 112: Lost Communication with the VSA Modulator-Control Unit
- Check for VSA system DTCs with the HDS.
Are any DTCs indicated?
YES - Troubleshoot the indicated VSA system DTC(s).
NO - Go to step 2.
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the adaptive cruise control (ACC) switch ON.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 112 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the 20P connector from the ACC unit.
- Disconnect the VSA modulator-control unit 47P connector.
- Check for continuity between the ACC unit 20P connector No. 10 terminal and the VSA modulator-control unit 47P connector No. 14 terminal.Fig 1: Checking For Continuity Between ACC Unit 20P Connector No. 10 Terminal And VSA Modulator-Control Unit 47P Connector No. 14 Terminal

Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 9.
NO - Repair an open in the wire between the ACC unit and the branch of the F-CAN line (CANH).
- Check for continuity between the ACC unit 20P connector No. 20 terminal and the VSA modulator-control unit 47P connector No. 30 terminal.Fig 2: Checking For Continuity Between ACC Unit 20P Connector No. 20 Terminal And VSA Modulator-Control Unit 47P Connector No. 30 Terminal

Is there continuity?
YES - Check for loose or poor connections. If OK, replace the ACC unit (see DISTANCE SWITCH TEST ).
NO - Repair an open in the wire between the ACC unit and the branch of the F-CAN line (CANL).
