Power Transistor

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage locking tab when disconnecting and connecting wire terminal. Insulate Orange/Black wire terminal from body until testing is completed.
  1. Disconnect 5-pin harness connector from power transistor. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 and 4 (Blue/Red wires) of power transistor. Resistance should be approximately 1.4-1.5 k/ohms. If resistance is within specifications, go to next step. If resistance is not within specifications, replace power transistor. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove terminal No. 3 (Orange/Black wire) from power transistor 5-pin harness connector and insulate. Reconnect 5-pin connector to power transistor. Using a jumper wire, supply 12 volts to terminal No. 3. Turn ignition on. If blower motor runs, power transistor is okay. If blower motor does not run, replace power transistor.
