DTC P1336 & P1337: Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation (CKF) Sensor

NOTE: DTC P1336 indicates an intermittent interruption in CKF sensor circuit. DTC P1337 indicates no signal in CKF sensor circuit.

Perform PCM reset procedure. See PCM RESET PROCEDURE/CLEARING CODES . Start engine. If DTC P1336 and/or P1337 reset, go to next step. If DTC P1336 and/or P1337 does not reset, problem is intermittent, system is functioning properly at this time. Check for poor connections or loose wires between CKF sensor connector and PCM connector. See the WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary.
Turn ignition off. Disconnect CKF sensor connector. Measure resistance between CKF sensor pigtail connector terminals No. 1 (Blue wire) and No. 2 (White wire). If resistance is 1600-3200 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1600-3200 ohms, replace CKF sensor.
Check for continuity between ground and CKF sensor pigtail connector terminals No. 1 (Blue wire) and No. 2 (White wire), individually. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, replace CKF sensor.
Reconnect CKF sensor 2-pin connector. Disconnect PCM 31-pin connector. See Figure. Measure resistance between PCM 31-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Blue/Red wire) and No. 11 (White/Red wire). If resistance is 1600-3200 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1600-3200 ohms, repair open in wire(s) between CKF sensor and PCM connector. See the WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
Check for continuity between ground and PCM 31-pin connector terminals No. 1 and No. 11 individually. If continuity exists, repair short in wire(s) between PCM connector and CKF sensor. If continuity does not exist, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck. If symptom or DTC is gone, replace original PCM.
