DTC P1336 & P1337 - Crankshaft SPD Fluctuation Sensor

  1. Connect and operate scan tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Clear codes. Turn ignition on. Retrieve codes. If DTC P1336 or P1337 appears, go to next step. If neither code appears, problem is intermittent. Inspect for poor connections or loose wires associated with CKF sensor, then repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Unplug CKF sensor. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 (Blue/Red wire) and No. 2 (White/Red wire) at sensor (component side). If resistance is 1600-3200 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1600-3200 ohms, replace sensor.
  3. Check continuity between ground and each sensor terminal (component side). If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, replace sensor.
  4. Reconnect wiring to sensor. Unplug PCM harness connector "C". Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 (Blue/Red wire) and No. 11 (White/Red wire) at PCM connector "C". If resistance is 1600-3200 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1600-3200 ohms, repair open in White/Red, or Blue/Red wires between CKF sensor and PCM.
  5. Check continuity between ground and terminals No. 1 (Blue/Red wire) and No. 11 (White/Red wire) at PCM connector "C". If continuity exists, repair short to ground in White/Red or Blue/Red wire between CKF sensor and PCM. If continuity does not exist, temporarily substitute known good PCM, then retest system.
