Code 30 Or 31: TCM Signal "A" Or "B"
- Turn ignition off. Remove BACK-UP fuse (7.5-amp) from underhood fuse/relay box for 10 seconds to reset ECM. Test drive vehicle for several miles (stop and go type driving). Check ECM for fault codes.
- If Code 30 or 31 is not present, problem is intermittent. Check for poor connections at ECM, Transmission Control Module (TCM) and wiring harness connectors.
- If Code 30 or 31 is present, turn ignition off. Connect ECM Test Harness (07LAJ-PT3010A ) to ECM connectors, leaving ECM disconnected. See Figure. Disconnect 22-pin TCM connector. Check for continuity between test terminals B3 and body ground, and between terminals B4 and body ground. If continuity is present, repair short in Green/Blue (B3) wire or Gray (B4) wire between ECM B3 or B4 terminal and 22-pin TCM connector.
- If continuity is not present, check for continuity between Green/Blue (B3) wire or Gray (B4) wire between ECM B3 or B4 terminal and 22-pin TCM connector. If continuity is not present, repair open in Green/Blue (B3) or Gray (B4) wire between ECM and TCM. If continuity is present, replace ECM and retest.
